A Surprise Summer Proposal

Wedding and Elopements

Gage & Kenzie

The phone rang a few days before July 4th, with a call from Gage with an idea to propose to his long time girlfriend Kenzie, but he wanted some help in finding a location and in capturing the moment. I had the best spot in mind, one that I knew would be perfect for this session. Holding the secret, I messaged Kenzie and asked her if she wanted to do a session with me at a new spot I needed a model for. She agreed and me already knowing her day off, t0ld her I was off the same day and if she wanted to bring her boyfriend, he was welcome to join in on a few shots. But little did she know, this was all apart of the plan.

July 6, the evening was warm, a slight breeze that came in handy for the nerves. The clouds above were filling the sky overhead before a light summer drizzle came through the area but before that, I captured the magical moment. Gage handed the ring box containing the ring to my assistant/husband and off we went to our photoshoot. After a few test shots, making sure I was ready for the moment, I had Kenzie turn around and make a heart above her head because I literally froze and no idea what to say but the capture was perfect. The subtle air heart, him on one knee and her unaware of what she was turning around too. The moment the nerves came down to this big question, "Will you marry me?"

She said "YES"! The moment, PERFECT, the ring, STUNNING! He did so well with the selection of her ring, it's so beautiful! We followed the proposal with a "Just Engaged" session, showing off the ring and capturing the love. The mountain backdrop was perfect along with the purple tones of the lupine wildflowers and the golden rays of the sunlight. It was such a beautiful moment to be apart of and to have captured. Congratulations to Gage and Kenzie, I'm sure we'll see more of them on the blog in the future.
